Most guys around the world are guilty of being too stingy of paying contractors to do something around the house because they would claim that they can do it better themselves. There is nothing wrong with this type of mentality, provided that you truly have the skills to get a job well done. Just keep in mind that similar to camping outdoors, you need to plan out everything so there won’t be any problems when you are already using your stuff. If you are one of those people that I am referring to, you might find it handy to create your very own folder where you can put every single renovation that you have done inside the house. This could include the details on what you did for plumbing, electricity, furniture and everything else that you did. If in case your wife gets the better of you, make sure that you always communicate with the contractor so you have an idea on what to do next time. You may also find it handy at some point because the fact is, these contractors are human beings and they have their own minds. If the design that they are doing is not similar with what you want, tell them so they could do the necessary changes.
